I am using Windows 7 home edition and am trying to install protools 9 hardware drivers. I click on the the 'Avid Mbox Pro setup' when the hardware driver disc is in the cd drive, and windows displays 'the system administrator has set policies to preventthis installation'. I have tried looking for the local security setting in the admin tools, but can't find it! (It seems windows 7 home doesn't have it).
I have also tried using different users, admin and not. I have also tried searching through the registryto change the 'DisableMSI' value from 1 to 0, but there is no DisableMSI key in the installer section, only a default. Please help, this is verrryyyyy frustrating. Thanks in advance for your prompt response. Right click the driver setup program and click Run as administrator and see if it installs. If it does not, it likely means you have malicious code on your computer.There are some that will hide your files/folders so that you cannot see them normally. I would highly suggest running a scan of your computer with your antivirus/antimalware software.
